Refreshing Detox Juices with Benefits

Nature's Beauty

We always hear about how your food affects your skin health, but how exactly do juices help us detox and hydrate up?

Fruits and vegetables are filled with loads of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that aid your body in functioning daily. Juices are the extracted liquid form of fruits and vegetables, leaving the fibrous part behind which allows your body to easily absorb the nutrients.

The UK Department of Health (DH) recommends that everyone should try to consume at least five servings of fruit and vegetables a day, to help reduce the risk of potential diseases such as coronary heart disease and cancer (DH 2007).

Additional tips:

- Chill your fruits in the refrigerator to add lesser ice to have a concentrated juice

- Try not to keep the juices and drink them fresh instead as oxygen exposure causes the fruits to oxidize

- Juicing should no replace you normal intake of fruits and vegetables. Another alternative would be to blend the ingredients so the fibers are consumed as well to help digestion
